Nav Bhatia, known as the "Superfan," is a celebrated figure in the basketball and automotive world, renowned for his love of the game and deep connection to the community. Born and raised in India, Nav grew up in a humble household that instilled in him a strong work ethic and a commitment to perseverance. His childhood was marked by challenges, including periods of discrimination, but he learned from an early age to stay resilient and focused on his goals.
In the early 1980s, Nav immigrated to Canada, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start. Despite holding an engineering degree, he faced barriers in finding employment in his field. Embracing his determination, he eventually entered the automotive industry, accepting a sales position at a Hyundai dealership. Nav’s infectious enthusiasm, respect for his customers, and exceptional work ethic set him apart, and within months, he became one of the top salespeople. His dedication and success continued to soar, leading him to own three Hyundai and two Genesis locations in the Greater Toronto Area.
While his impact in the automotive world is significant, Nav is equally celebrated for his passion for basketball, particularly the Toronto Raptors. In 1995, he attended the Raptors' first-ever home game and immediately fell in love with the sport. Since then, he’s been a fixture at every Raptors home game, earning the nickname "Superfan." Nav’s unwavering support and positive energy have made him an icon, not only in Toronto but also internationally.
Through his Superfan Foundation, he works to bring together diverse communities and inspire youth, often hosting groups from all backgrounds at Raptors games.
